Silence is, silence was, silence will always be, Existing just beyond our gaze in a world of grace and sanctity, Silence eternal, silence unknown, silence forever beneath, An underscore, on the edges of sight, in a place of love and mystery. Music is life, life that flows, flows from the wounds of silence, Wisdom to those, to those who seek, seek to understand.

about

Sunday 16 June 2019 was the day set aside for the Music Of Stillness concert - we had one day and one day only! After nearly a year of planning - writing, arranging, printing and organising music, applying for grants, organising musicians, rehearsals and venues, and a myriad of other jobs - we had arrived. The day started with a thunderstorm, which thankfully had cleared before we started rehearsing. Then it was one rehearsal, a short break for lunch, then the performance. Most of the music on this recording was done in one take in front of a live audience.
When arranging this music, I tried to have a moment in each piece that made me excited, that I was looking forward to hearing. Ultimately, there are many such moments, where the orchestra knits together in perfection and the result is something beautiful, something that inspires joy, something that releases hope within you. In the current state of our world, this is my prayer for you.
