'Breathe In' is a song about giving and receiving, created in response to the coronavirus. Written and produced by Daniel Philippe, sung by Jazmine.
Recent events have made it very clear that there are people in the world who are desperately trying to breathe in - they are not holding their breath - but someone is stopping them from breathing. Their cries of ‘I can’t breathe’ are falling on deaf, apathetic ears. Nobody, regardless of race or rank, should ever be allowed to deny someone their God-given right to breathe. May we all live together, all races, all cultures, all people, loving and supporting each other, giving and receiving oxygen - and breathing in.
lyrics
When you stumble and you feel like you’re about to fall
In the eye of the storm, and waiting for the rain again to pour
When the weight that you carry is too heavy
When to love takes all of your might
When the darkness is all around you
I pray that soon you will see the light
I give you oxygen
And hope that you will breathe in
When the stars fade and you don’t know when the sun will rise
And you’re holding your breath, afraid to let someone inside
When you’re far from home and the road is narrow
When you’re broken and seem to have lost your sight
When the darkness is all around you
I pray that soon you will see the light
I give you oxygen
And hope that you will breathe in
Don’t look in the bottom of the barrel
Or you will only find a mess
Rise to the top
Rise to the top
You can begin again
I give you oxygen
And hope that you will breathe in
